Hi. I’m Steff. This is my blog.
Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, I have saltwater in the blood and a love for all things coastal. When my hometown got too big and fast for me, I found myself thinking, “What if I move to Victoria?”
The powers that be let me keep my TV day job, and I moved to the island and began telecommuting from home.
Since March, 2012, I’ve tried to gear down to the island pace of life, and I think I’m getting there.
This blog is about the Victoria I’m coming to love, the Victoria that’s now my home, the Victoria I’d sooner return to than leave, a Victoria many locals love, but not the “Victoria” you see in commercials or that your granny wants to visit. My Victoria isn’t some stagnant reminder of the UK of Yesterday. It’s not some touristy gimmick. My Victoria is filled with culture, great food, artisans, nature, and killer beers. This is the new Capital Regional District, my way.

Follow me on Twitter and Instagram as @SmuttySteff, and you can read my edgier personal blog, The CuntingLinguist for something different. I occasionally write on all matters of interior decor for Build Direct’s blog, and you can find my posts here. I have also begun contributing to Victoria’s noted web magazine Life As A Human.
A journalism grad and passionately blogging since 2004, I have spoken at Northern Voice twice, along with other engagements. If you’d like to contact me, drop me a line as steffanicameron (at) gmail (dot) com.
